Welcome to Neutral Impact's Homepage

Goals: End-game PvE
Timezones: North American (EST, CST, MST, PST)
Server: Hyperion [Legacy]

Mission Statement

Neutral Impact firmly believes the game is not a job. We all have busy personal lives to attend to and that will always take priority over the game.  While our Free Company is not strictly a social group, our social pearl is.  We believe the group and the individual are equal. By extension, we believe members should get the respect they deserve and so transparency is important to us for all things; banks, policies, and planning. Our group believes in always moving forward and as such, all our actions will be focused on reaching the end game and participating in it as best we can, as fast as we can. Lastly, we also believe that the most fair gaming environment is created using custom-tailored rules with a firm foundation of time-tested leadership. Our leadership is experienced and highly structured.  This isn't your run-of-the-mill guild.  We play seriously and also know when to joke around and have a great time.

Our goals will always include defeating all instanced and open world raid content in a quick and productive manner.  We may not be the first, but we will always be in the running.  To accomplish these goals we seek the finest semi-hardcore players available within the Final Fantasy XIV community to bring their talent here and play their hearts out.

Above: Our most recent clear. A - 1 Gladiator, 1 Conjurer, 2 Marauders, 1 Pugilist and 1 Archer! Who says you need Archers for this dungeon!

Since update 1.18 Neutral Impact has come a long way. From learning the battle system all over again, learning the new enmity calculations, dealing with the increase in MP cost for curing and over all adjusting and adapting to the changes; We have grown even stronger as a unit. Even with constant disconnections throughout our Dungeon diving escapades we have managed to obtain just about all of the gear we need to walk away happy. Only a few pieces remain to be confiscated from the confines of the dark - and they are but a finger tip away!

Good job guys! Keep it up!

A couple of weeks ago Ruok Mphemala let me know that her real life would be picking up and she would no longer be able to handle the duties of Recruitment Officer for Neutral Impact.  While this saddened me, as Ruok is both a close friend and the only (and last) Senior Leader of NI, there was a need to put someone in her place quickly.

An opening was posted and we did receive some interest in the position.  In the end I chose Atem Zoe ("atem") because I felt he was the best fit for it.  Atem wrote a wonderfully detailed PM to me about his desire to have this position and I felt it was genuine.  Atem has been involved not only in NI, but in League of Legends nights that take place in IGC and he is very active on the boards.  He's very pro-community and he seems to have a lot of ideas that could really help IGC grow.  In addition, Atem was a long-time FFXI end-gamer and raided 10- and 25-man content in World of Warcraft.  During this time in Neutral Impact, he's been active in all aspects of the guild and has even taken advantage of our friends and family policy to recruit one of his close friends who was recently upgraded to end-gamer status who has also proven to be a solid member.  I truly feel this position could be his first step toward something even greater in the future!  I personally look forward to seeing what he will bring to the linkshell and the community as a whole.

That being said, Ruok's loss will certainly be felt during this transition, but there comes a point in all our lives where we must put the game aside and find ourselves.  I wish her the best of luck in whatever she decides to do going forward and I think I speak on behalf of NI when I say that she will be missed.

But now we must look to the future with our heads up.  Congratulations to Atem Zoe on this promotion!  Give him a pat on the back if you see him and make him feel welcome as IGC's newest Officer!  You've earned it.

Neutral Impact is booming! Welcoming the addition of four new members to the community as well as new Patch 1.17!

Patch 1.17 came and went with more system fixes, guild task/more quest additions for the novelty adventurer, full party/light party buffs, and 20 brand new NMs.  Neutral Impact has been hard at work testing the new features and NMs while still continuing our advancing march toward self improvement and group rank leve progression!

A look at the overly ridiculous Full Party notification.

Silly bug with the Nether Newt description.

We have gotten our fill of all the new NMs and what gear we wanted from them.  Although it was not the endgame challenge we would have hoped for, they still proved to be a refreshing change to our normal schedule.

Still rocking the original 'end-game' NMs for continued practice and training for new and old members alike.  Special shout out to Ghunter for having 100% attendance at all 177 NM kill events, good job!

Continuing our objective of pushing battle classes to 50 with leves!

Our crafting and gathering class divisions have been burning the candle at both ends, reaching goals and expectations far exceeding the Linkshells demands.  Grats to all who have earned 50 in the past month!

Our latest letter from the producer states that 1.18 is going to be a very large content patch, with quest-hubs (possible dungeon flag points?), Rank 30 and Rank 50 dungeons!, possible fatigue system abolishment, and the beginning of a battle class system make-over.  It was a little depressing to hear it being pushed back to mid-June instead of May, but just official news and pictures of the upcoming content is enough to build that anticipation hype again.  In the meantime, we will be continuing business as usual.  Chance favors the prepared mind, and we are ready for what comes next!

With dungeons launching on July 21st, give or a take a few days, Neutral Impact has been seeking a new officer to take the lead for this event!

A few weeks ago I put out a linkshell bulletin for this position and it has since been filled.  I guess I just forgot to blog about it on our frontpage... Anyway!  Reli Turino has once again returned to leadership of Neutral Impact and is preparing to take the linkshell into the unexplored depths of The Dzamael Darkhold.  We wish him the best of luck in his new position and I look forward to working with him again in this capacity.

For those unfamiliar with Reli, he has been in the positions of Recruitment and Open World NM officer in the past.  He was very active in both positions and brought a different kind of attitude to the linkshell that many of us felt was needed at the time.  I speak for many of us when I say that he will be successful in this new position.  He certainly has a passion for leading and is heard when he speaks (mostly because he is very loud!).  Reli is primarily a Marauder, but recently has completed the climb to 50 for both his Pugilist and Thaumaturge, opening up his available roles on the battlefield.

Now our biggest hope is that this new dungeon content is as challenging as Yoshida has hinted that it will be, otherwise he might be out of a job.  Congratulations to Reli and we wish him the best of luck!

Firing on all Cylinders!  Neutral Impact has made significant level progression in both crafting/gathering/battle classes, and NM skill proficiency despite the lack of enticing patch news for the upcoming April/May patch and ever growing content stagnancy.  Yet we and the FFXIV community as a whole still persevere in hopes that this will finally be the patch that instills some faith back in the community to help jump-start this game into what it should have been from the start - a masterpiece.

In the meantime, those of us still wanting to be ahead of the curve with battle classes have been leading consistent, and successful leve groups for cross class abilities and job main flexibility.

Our crafting juggernauts and up and coming craft enthusiasts have been working hard to reach personal as well as needed goals for both the future and present of the linkshells' infrastructure demands.  Shout out to Lux Aeterna! crafted some type of Pre-Relic monster! Congratulations on taking all my money :(.

And we have made great strides toward tweaking and mastering our current NM strategies as well as our group dynamics for battle regiment efficiency.  Dodore and Uraeus main focus at the moment.

What lies next on the horizon for FFXIV and Neutral Impact?  apparently clouds and hillsides in this picture, but lets pretend they are game content in landscape format!

Alot seems to be riding on this April/May patch anticipation, will our new dev team show us what made them so successful in FFXI?  Or will another wasted opportunity pass with a myriad of mediocre fixes and then follow-up patches to fix the things broken in the preceding patch /sigh.  FIX IT FIX IT FIX IT FIX IT FIX IT, FIX IT FIX IT!
